Current Conditions: Hurricane Nicole made landfall around the Vero Beach area of FL, Wednesday night. The LWDD area received approximately 2″ to 3″ of rain. This morning LWDD Crews are making post storm assessments of the canal system.

Instructions: Community discharge control structures should remain closed allowing for the natural progression of drainage. Contact LWDD if you have any flooding issues or questions. It is recommended to check storm drains and swale areas and clear any debris that may have been deposited by the storm. Current Conditions: LWDD continues to monitor Tropical Storm Nicole which is expected to make landfall on the east coast of Florida Wednesday night. The rain forecast for our area is 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rain and the potential for a local max of 4 to 6 inches.

Instructions: Community discharge control structures will automatically drain into LWDD canals as designed. Operable control structures which allow for additional stormwater discharge should remain closed at this time.
