- Assistant Applicator Lake Worth Drainage District is seeking a full-time Assistant Applicator. This is work of limited skill and works with a Licensed Applicator. Position may include driving a boat with spray rig or truck with spray rig along canal rights-of-way. Will assist in the loading of herbicides, either on the boat or truck; and assist in the pouring of herbicides into the truck spray rig or the boat spray rig. Performs all duties, pursuant to safety guidelines, as set forth by the Licensed Applicator and/or Aquatics Crew Leader. - Field Maintenance Technician
Lake Worth Drainage District is seeking a full-time maintenance position of the District’s operational structures and buildings. This employee is responsible for maintenance of water control structures, installation and maintenance of right-of-way gates and other District owned facilities as assigned. - Geospatial Technician
Min: $49,525/ Mid: $65,624 (salary negotiable based on experience)Lake Worth Drainage District is seeking to hire a Geospatial Technician, which is a technical position responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Computer-Aided Design (CAD). The role involves the creation, maintenance, and analysis of geospatial and CAD data, as well as the production of maps, reports, canal profiles and other related products. This position provides GIS support to the Administrative, O&M, and Regulation Departments. Work is performed under the supervision of the IT/GIS Manager.
Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent certification, supplemented with courses in GIS, AutoCAD, surveying, and drafting. Two (2) years of experience working with GIS, AutoCAD, surveying, and drafting. May have a Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Geography, Geomatics, or a closely related field, with one (1) year of experience in GIS mapping and or CAD drafting preferred but not required. Executive Positions
The Director of Finance is responsible for the preparation of the annual operating budgets; monitoring and directing the investments of the district and serves as the board-appointed Treasurer. In addition, oversees all accounting activities, human resources, and employee benefits administration, as well as serves as liaison to external auditor during the annual audits. The position has two direct reports – Accounts Payable and Payroll Specialist and HR Administrator.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting or related discipline
- At least five (5) years’ experience in governmental accounting and audit in a supervisory or team leadership capacity.
- Any directly relevant combination of education or related experience.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
