Current Conditions:
Heavy rains likely tonight or early on Friday. Much heavier and more widespread rains, including the possibility of severe weather, are expected on Friday with the approach of the tropical storm and similar conditions on Saturday during the storm’s passage. Locally extreme amounts of rain and flash flooding are possible. Street flooding is expected as these low-lying areas act as secondary detention areas keeping water away from homes. Expect community stormwater ponds and canal water elevations to increase and decrease in response to the rainfall.

Instructions:
Community emergency discharge control structures should remain closed. Authorizations to open an internal control structure may be given to individual communities after post-storm assessment is conducted by LWDD staff.

More Information:
Check storm drains and swale areas and clear any debris that may slow or block the flow of water away from homes. Do not drive or walk-through flooded streets. Monitor local news for updates.
