Entry Level Maintenance Positions

- Assistant Applicator
Lake Worth Drainage District is seeking a full-time Assistant Applicator. This is work of limited skill and works with a Licensed Applicator. Position may include driving a boat with spray rig or truck with spray rig along canal rights-of-way. Will assist in the loading of herbicides, either on the boat or truck; and assist in the pouring of herbicides into the truck spray rig or the boat spray rig. Performs all duties, pursuant to safety guidelines, as set forth by the Licensed Applicator and/or Aquatics Crew Leader. When weather conditions do not permit spraying of herbicides, must perform all jobs and/or duties assigned. A high school diploma and valid Florida driver’s license are required. Work will include a variety of tasks associated with vegetation maintenance along the District’s canal banks, including tree removal and trimming, handwork and the operation of chainsaw, construction equipment, including mini-excavators, mini-skid steers and similar equipment. Tree clearing or lawn care maintenance experience is helpful but not required. A high school diploma and valid Florida driver’s license are required. - Public Information Manager
LWDD is looking for a highly independent position to direct the District’s public outreach and information programs, ensuring effective communication with the public, stakeholders, and the media. This position also oversees the District’s records management functions, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The Public Information Manager serves as a liaison between the public and the District and involves the development of a variety of public communication projects and publications. This role requires independent judgment, strategic thinking, and a proactive approach to public relations.Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Public Administration, or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in public relations, communications, records management, or a related field. Experience working in a government, or public agency is a plus.
Certified Records Manager (CRM) or Information Governance Professional (IGP) certification is a plus.
